Banananana...nana...na...

My day started out by my sleeping late, and having to get up earlier than I would have liked to pee. Well, then I got in a conversation with my mom and couldn't go back to sleep, and then I cleaned the house and showered before I went to work. There has been a steady increase in buisness that I've noticed at work, which is fabulous. I guess when the economy gets bad people want to eat chocolate more as well as drink more. So my shift started out great, by my having to scoop a half-gallon of vanilla ice cream for a woman... Then I went in the back to restock, and found a half-gallon already scooped. I almost screamed. So thus started my day of blonde-ness and unusually bad klutzy-ness. I tend to make a fool of myself quite often--it's a fact of life I've become resigned to. However, today I somehow managed to out-do myself at an enormous scale. Since I've only been working at Goody's since September, I haven't had alot of experience with the ice cream section. That was no excuse. Two middle-aged men came in today, checked out the menu for a while, and ordered two traditional splits. Banana splits, that is. So I scooped the ice cream, but the correct toppings on, sprayed a liberal amount of whipped cream upon the lovely mounds of deliciousness, and served them. As I walked back to clean up the sloshes, I saw the bananas sitting serenly on the counter. Untouched. I had forgotten to put bananas on the banana splits. After a brief moment of fighting with myself, I confessed to the customers my faux pas, and would have blushed if I was capable of the action. They yelled. No, I'm just kidding, they were really nice about it. The two men stated that they had not noticed the absense of banana from their banana splits, and when I offered to remedy the situation they refused, saying that bananas were too healthy to put with the delicious mess of ice cream anyway. I don't think they left a tip, though.

  1. Such a sad story....except the part about leaving the bananas out of the now bananaless splits.
