Not-so-typical day in the life...

I must have reverse karma. Today, Friday the 13th, is supposedly a very unlucky day. I, however, had one of the more lucky days of my life. Not that anything special happened, it's just I only made an awkward fool out of myself once, instead of several times. It's nothing personal that I'm often awkward and blonde, I'm just at that age of awkwardness. I had a rather interesting day. I worked today, and it was very much more busy than usual, considering I work in a candy store and tomorrow is Valentine's day. My first, and, really, only dumb mistake of the day was getting a cup of coffee for a guy who didn't want it. I, however, hadn't picked up on that in the relative hubbub, and carried the glass out to where he sat at the table. He corrected my mistake, and with apologies and blushing I took the glass back. My second weird moment, which wasn't my fault but was funny anyway, was when my friend/coworker came in for his shift. Our shifts overlapped, but my boss, who was there today, told me to take a fifteen minute break. I was going to get lunch across the street for my friend and I, when a guy walked in. I knew for sure that I had seen him somewhere before, and as I found money in my duffle bag I tried to place him. As I walked out the door, I overheard my friend, who I've known since we were eleven, mention to our boss that the guy was his dad. Nice. So upon my return to work, I told my friend that I could not for the life of me place his dad, which was funny, because he told me that his dad could not figure out where he'd seen me before, either. Anyway, the rest of my shift had non-stop customers, and nothing particularly interesting happened. Then I went home and almost took a nap, but didn't. Signing off.

  1. Not to mention that said coworker evidently didn't bother to mention that he worked with you, even though we've gone on numerous outings with their family.......I don't even know......
